Sometimes, being around certain people, we may feel troubled, shattered, and drained, we don’t understand what the matter is, but we can experience it every time we meet this person, a small conversation can make us exhausted and hurried to quit. The reason why we experience such feelings is that we are losing our energetic boundaries; they are invisible but extremely profound and important because they present our sense of self. Learning how to protect our energy is a must if we want to preserve our authenticity and our vital nature.

Distance yourself from Draining people

If you feel that certain people or things are draining you, it’s time to remove yourself and limit your interactions with this person. You are not obliged to make your vital energy available to anyone. You have the right to set your boundaries and take care of yourself. If this person manipulates you or makes you guilty without taking responsibility for their own energy, you will need to watch the person go from your life, because you will never be able to build a healthy relationship with someone who refuses to take control of their life. Remember that self-protection is not selfish, it will actually strengthen the person to find power and train them to raise their level of energy.

Raise your self-awareness

In order to notice which situations or people triggered you, you should be able to tune into yourself and pay attention to your emotions; thoughts, and moods.

Remember to take a moment for you to breathe: sit comfortably in a calm place for about 10 minutes and concentrate your attention on breathing, still conscious of your inhales and exhales, every time you notice a thought or feeling is distracting you from focusing on your breath, accept it and go back to your exercise. The more you practice meditation regularly, the quicker you will be capable to identify situations that deplete you and trigger your mind.

Create a personal energy shield

Sometimes you can’t completely get rid of toxic people from your life, that’s why you need to learn how to shield yourself with an energy ritual, it’s a quick way to protect yourself, you can try it in the bus, a train station, many people rely on it to stop negative vibes and allow the flow of positive energy. A simple and easy ritual that you can practice every day is to take a few deep breaths, next imagine a white shield surrounding your body, and then feel grounded and energized by this white light. This shield will protect you from negative, irritating, and toxic sensations without blocking positive and powerful feelings.

Fix clear limits

Fix limits by controlling how much time you will spend listening to venting and victimized people, and learn to say NO nicely and politely to their requests. Remember that your time and energy are precious; they have a profound effect on how you behave and how you will be thriving in your life. So, no one should have the right to penalize you or make you guilty of honoring your needs and looking after yourself.
